Community arts has been invited by Pendle Leisure Trust to deliver a series of creative workshops that are part of a two year programme called Arts for Wellbeing, funded by Arts Council England and Clinical Comissioning Group. The workshops, that aim to improve mental health through art, creativity and social connection, will explore textiles, fibre and mixed media, exploring a variety of techniques and processes that will contribute towards a final mixed media textile sculpture. Two of our artists, Zaneb Khatun and Louise Cunningham will work with the community to create unique pieces of art that are intriguing in terms of form, colour, shape, line and texture. This 12 week project will culminate in a final exhibition during August 2022.

There are currently a range of arts activities on offer for people aged 18+ who are suffering from low mood, depression, anxiety, loneliness or isolation. The sessions are led by local professional artists. If you would like to join in and meet new people, learn new skills and get out and about in the community, please contact Fiona Whitty on
