Community Arts by ZK is delighted to be partnering with Super Slow Way and Raana Liaquat Craftsmen Colony (RLCC) Karachi for a project forming part of the British Textile Biennial 2023. In this exhibition, to be presented in Blackburn Cathedral, artist Alice Kettle facilitates a conversation through shared embroidery skills between women in Karachi and groups of women from the South Asian diaspora living in East Lancashire, exploring notions of home and the land. The resulting embroidered cloths speak of rich landscapes and environments, personal journeys, family life, skills passed down through generations, and shared heritages.
