LITTLE LAMBS

Creative, Fun-filled Education: LITTLE LAMBS

In 2025 Community Arts by ZK delivered our Easter  art project called ‘Little Lambs’ with children aged 5-11 as part of the Fun Vibes, Active Lives - holiday activities and food programme (HAF) supported by Pendle Borough Council, Pendle Leisure Trust, Lancashire County Council and Department for Education. This scheme provides enriching summer activities for children to inspire healthy living.

Our Community Artist, Hannah Smith lead the HAF project and developed a creative programme of art activities. During these activities the children used art as a social tool to develop skills and their communication.

Over the duration of 4 days, Community Arts by ZK created exciting and engaging art workshops that explored a variety of Easter themed activities. This allowed the children's imagination to run wild, whilst still educating them on the importance of 'healthy living'.

The 4 days of workshops included creative art projects, fun games and free healthy lunches.

Throughout their time at Community Arts by ZK, the children created their very own easter Baskets made from recycled paper, origami flowers, Bunny headdresses and design their very own fruit bowl. The children used paint, origami, collaging techniques and the use of fabrics, these artistic techniques allowed the children to develop their problem solving skills.

We used a variety of techniques to inspire children to be as creative as possible. The children gained confidence skills by giving short presentations about the work they had created and we had a fun party to finish off the week, that included healthy and artistic prizes.

It was very creative, inspiring and loads of fun!

Thank you to Pendle Borough Council, Fun Vibes Active Lives, Pendle Leisure Trust, Lancashire County Council and Department for Education for your continuous support with this great project.
