Zaneb Khatun is the founder and CEO of Community Arts by ZK. Zaneb is an experienced community artist and university lecturer with a wealth of experience working with communities from all different cultural, social and economic backgrounds. Zaneb achieved a Masters in Design for Textile Futures in one of the most renowned art schools in the world, Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design. She also obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Textile Design from Manchester Metropolitan University. Zaneb was born and raised in Lancashire and returned to the North West after completing her studies in London to live and work within her community, giving something back to the people and the place, and has developed Community Arts by ZK, promoting the benefits of a strong, diverse and inclusive community at the centre. The aim of this organisation is to develop and deliver accessible arts programmes for all. Zaneb has made it her goal to engage with as many representatives as possible from across the social and cultural backgrounds in the area and has built up a strong rapport with members of her community; Zaneb is a role model and an inspiration to others. Her lived experience as a member of the community in Pendle has enabled her to identify with the problems within her community, empathise with the people and help them; she is a passionate advocate of using art to empower individuals and groups, constantly striving to improve community cohesion through creativity and culture.
